Meet the team: Gabe, Ryan, Fred, Tonya, Austin, Rosie and Matt. We’re all technology enthusiasts with a focus on offering you, our customers, the best of service. You can depend on us to do the job quickly, efficiently, and all while keeping you up to date on the progress of your repairs.
About the Company
Established in 2008, Teknyka Tech Support specializes in fast computer repairs and ongoing maintenance for small businesses and residential customers. Our technicians get to travel all around this beautiful country, from Canby up to Portland and down to Salem. We like to celebrate company achievements with games of paintball, go kart races, and drinking delicious local beers.
Meet The Teknyka Crew
Gabe is the fearless leader and owner of Teknyka Tech Support. With two college degrees, multiple certifications, and a black belt in computing he’s a force to be reckoned with. Keyboards clatter with fear at the sight of his fingers of steel. Computers often fix themselves when he enters the room. In his spare moments he enjoys playing board games with his children, bike riding, and experimenting with exotic hot sauces. Keep an eye out for his silver Teknyka car cruising around town. And keep your old broken computer out of sight if you don’t want it to suddenly come to life!
Ryan can’t decide what he is good at, which is going to have us re-evaluate why he’s even here… but in the time being we’ve noticed he’s great at fixing Apple computers, removing viruses, spinning up virtual machines, and rubbing it into our noses that he’s the fastest typer at Teknyka. In his free time Ryan loves snowboarding and motocross and tries to go out every weekend possible. He also works on his truck and makes engine noises when he thinks no one can hear him. Ryan calls himself the stallion of the business! We have no clue where to even start with that.
Fred is the home networking and printer specialist. He also writes most of our Facebook, Twitter, and blog posts, as well as other marketing areas for Teknyka (including this very entry). Although he is probably the best employee in the shop, Gabe won’t admit to it in fear of offending the other employees. Fred graduated from The Art Institute of Portland in 2008 in Game Art and Design and works with local video game developers as a freelance artist. In his free time he usually works on 3D projects, goes fishing, pans for gold, and yells at the TV when football is on.
Tonya is the wonderful voice you’ll hear when calling us or getting a phone call from us. As our office manager she deals with the dirty work that we don’t even want to think about, like purchasing, inventory management, accounting, and odds and ends. She doesn’t even need to wear rubber gloves when she does it! Tonya likes to play video games with her husband and spending time with her cat. Don’t let her calm and polite demeanor fool you, she’ll tackle computer problems as ruthlessly as the rest of us!
Austin is one of our in-shop technicians who does really well taking apart laptops, and sometimes can get them back together again (we’re kidding, of course, he gets them back together and the extra pieces left behind are considered bonus parts). Austin likes reading comic books, longboarding, and hiking. He is a self-described meme connoisseur and while we don’t know what that means, it sure sounds French to us! Austin lives in constant fear of alligators and crocodiles, as they are the apex predator who survived extinction. It’s a good thing they aren’t native here in Oregon!
Rosie is our Office Assistant who is in a few times a week to not only help out with answering phones and emails, but also to help keep our shop clean. In her own words, and no sarcasm was used whatsoever, dusting and sweeping are her absolute favorite things to do. And it works perfectly for us as we love making messes for her to clean. It’s a symbiotic relationship. When she’s not here at Teknyka, Rosie attends Chemeketa Community College to study psychology and art. In her free time she loves to paint, draw, and read.
Matt is our Shop Lead and does a wonderful job managing the jobs and duties of residential shop work. He even does business support, when available. For fun, Matt plays video games, reads, fishes, hunts, and takes his kids to the park. Matt also loves playing the same songs in our shop, every single day, the same songs, every – single – day. You would think he would get tired of them, but no, he just goes along with his day as if it’s the first time he’s heard that song, yet again, for yet another day. Maybe that’s why we like him!
