Make Your Windows 8 Computer Look Like Windows 7
One of the biggest complaints with Windows 8 is the fact that it doesn’t have a Start Menu. The most recent big update, Windows 8.1, does put in a Start Button but it just leads you right back to the Metro Mode – with the big colored squares. Luckily for all of us, there’s a program that puts in a true Start Menu that is easy to install and use!
- To get this program, get into Desktop Mode and go to http://www.ninite.com
- Put a checkmark next to Classic Start
- Click on the big green button “Get Installer”
- After it installs, run the program
- When it completes, you should see a new icon with a shell in the lower left-hand corner of your screen
The Start Menu can be customized a bit by right-clicking on it and we would recommend the Windows 7 interface along with the Classic Start Menu button look.
