Optical Media Prices to Rise in Latter Half of 2013

In the 2nd half of 2013, the prices of optical discs are expected to rise by 50%. This is due to some of the main manufacturers ceasing production in Japan and Taiwan. Of course, the market for optical discs is shrinking as other forms of removable media, such as flash drives, are becoming much more popular. Our suggestion would be to purchase as many blank CDs/DVDs as you think you’ll ever need before it’s too late! It’s sort of a strange thought that burning a disc won’t really be that prevalent any longer, but for those who follow tech trends it was known to happen eventually.
